We are currently hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to provide support to Naval Air Systems Command's Program Office (PMA-265). Candidate will perform and coordinate detailed Engineering analysis for a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program. Candidate will provide support to the Program Manager and Deputy Program Manager.

Description
    Identify, direct, coordinate, and implement engineering support relative to FA-18 weapons systems.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate total cradle to grave engineering support.
  • Monitor program milestones for established engineering requirements and identity problem areas.
  • Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, and related information to identify, document, and resolve engineering requirements.
  • Provide engineering support for the integration of F/A-18 Avionics subsystems through requirements analysis and traceability, systems engineering plan management, systems interface development, and risk management
  • Provide technical interface with organic entities that include managers and engineers for new technologies that cover naval sensors, weapon and combat systems with a particular emphasis on the F/A-18 Combat System and Standard Missiles.
  • Support development and execution of systems engineering trade studies, performance metrics, systems requirements, mission analysis, CONOPS, and risk management plans
  • Support systems integration and requirements identification
  • Support the identification of future technology enablers to enhance system performance
  • Development and review of Program Initiation Documentation and Requirements Documentation
  • Preparation of presentation material including presentations to senior leadership
  • Support planning, execution and monitoring of Test and Evaluation programs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science
    • OR: An additional five (5) year experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
  • Applicant must have a minimum ten (10) year experience Systems Engineering or Engineering support within Department of Navy (DoN) environment.
  • Have a working knowledge of the Airworthiness and Flight Certification process within NAVAIR and its application to FMS Requirements
  • Knowledge of Flight Test requirements for specific F/A-18 systems and how it impacts integration of the system on the platform
  • Be able to communicate with engineers, both domestic and foreign, on software related issues as they apply to sensors and weapons
  • System of System analysis including analysis of alternatives and recommendations for technology investment to drive system performance
  • Planning and guiding systems engineering studies, analysis efforts, and risk working groups
  • Experience supporting programs within the DoD acquisition community is required
  • F/A-18 Avionics Background preferred
