Moffatt & Nichol is looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Savannah or Atlanta, GA office. The successful new hire will have 2 to 6 years of site design experience. They will join a team of engineers working on projects throughout the Savannah area as well as work on large, complex, and exciting designs at the local ports. This individual must be self-directed, dedicated, and success focused.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare design documents and reports for civil site development (site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems)
  • Perform calculations, cost estimates, prepare drawings, technical specifications, and write reports
  • Coordinate civil design with entry-level staff along with other disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets while working directly under licensed engineers
  • Perform limited field observations in support of construction and data collection
  • Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of an EIT is required in Savannah; OR
    • For the Atlanta location, Professional Engineer licensure in Georgia or the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire is required as this would be a different office location than the primary Civil team. Travel between Atlanta and Savannah will be required monthly
  • 2 to 6 years of site civil experience
  • Proficiency in stormwater modeling, AutoCAD, and Civil3D
  • WaterCAD experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
  • Moffatt & Nichol uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hire

Physical requirements:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
