HDR is looking for an Industrial Electrical Engineering Manager to join our Industrial, Oil, Gas and Chemicals team in Pooler, GA or Greenville, SC. This individual will be responsible for leading electrical and instrumentation and controls design teams for a variety of Industrial sector projects including Liquid Natural Gas (LNG), Liquid Bulk Terminals and other Industrial facilities. On a day-to-day basis, they'll be expected to:

  • Coach and mentor E/I&C staff who deliver Industrial projects to retain employees
  • Maintain workload projections for E/I&C needs in coordination with our Building Engineering Services Group's E/I&C leadership to ensure schedules are met, staff maintains their Utilization Targets and proper forecasting is in-place to support hires
  • Provide guidance and support to our E/I&C staff on the requirements/expectations of Industrial clients' E/I&C deliverables and expectations.
  • Lead and/or support E/I&C scope and fee development for Industrial proposals
  • Develop relationships with consulting firms with E/I&C capabilities which we can team with on an as-needed basis (for cost competitiveness, geographic advantages, provide supplemental buffer capacity, etc).
  • Oversee the work product of these firms when they are our subconsultants.
  • Deliver/execute E/I&C scopes for projects (in Industrial and other HDR Market Sectors) and also serve as a Project Manager and/or Principal-in-Charge for multi-disciplinary projects
  • Work across our various Business Groups to identify our E/I&C needs and actively recruit Electrical Engineers and I&C Engineers to fill these positions
  • Attend and lead design meetings with other team members
  • Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Make decisions on significant design and engineering procedures as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum of 10 years related management experience
  • PE license
  • Must be able to lead a team on projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Good planning and mentoring skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Must have strong communication skills, and be self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to work both independently and with a project team to completion of tasks
  • Must be willing to travel/perform field work
  • This position will be subject to a pre-employment drug test and drug and alcohol testing during the course of your employment based upon HDR's Drug Testing and Drug Free Workplace Policy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in safety reviews i.e. HAZOPs, HAZID
  • Experience in safety instrumented systems (SIS)
  • Local candidates are preferred
