Our Savannah, GA office is actively searching for a Marine Structural Engineer with 6 to 10 years of hands-on experience in the design, analysis, and implementation of marine structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering principles, a proven track record in project management, and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions in the marine and offshore industry.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Conduct structural analysis and design for marine and offshore structures, including but not limited to piers, wharves, bulkheads, and mooring and berthing systems
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and efficient engineering solutions
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations, specifications, and reports
  • Perform site visits and inspections to assess structural conditions and provide recommendations
  • Utilize industry-standard software and tools for structural analysis and modeling
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree is a plus
  • 6 to 10 years of experience in structural engineering with a minimum of 3 years in waterfront engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Licensure within the State of Georgia is required within 6 months of hire
  • Proficient in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., API, AISC, ACI)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Physical requirements:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment. Some travel required to work with other offices as part of large project teams or to project site in different locations than the candidate's assigned office.
