The Gulfstream Completions R&D and New Product Design Team explores and designs new, innovative customer experiences that exceed our elite customers' expectations. We use a Lean and Design Thinking approach to create engaging prototypes and proofs-of-concepts based on our research. Join this exciting team to elevate the aviation industry and enhance future cabin experiences.We seek an experienced UI/UX designer (Innovative Problem Solver) to foster strong partnerships across our design practice and enterprise. You will develop design artifacts, to assist with Design Sprints/Thinking workshops, provide direction that resolve challenging user experience needs.

We are seeking a unique blend of innovation and creative thinking combined with ''hands-on execution skills and collaboration skills". This role is about creating industry leading experiences by effectively using the power of Lean Design and Design Thinking. You will work with other cross-functional teams to provide a new standard of quality, creative excellence, and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Work with designers, stakeholders, engineering, and technical partners to objectives and be responsible for ensuring creative excellence.
  • Act as a strategic liaison between Gulfstream and supporting third parties, evaluating work, and sharing feedback.
  • Help internal stakeholders and external partners uphold design and user experience quality, consistency, and alignment across all initiatives.
  • Responsible for wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, site maps, prototypes, interactions, and mockups/comps to communicate design ideas effectively.
  • Act as a UX design and digital brand resource within our team
  • Manage the digital creation and evolution of guidelines, frameworks, UI patterns, and systems that help us more effectively manage our team.
  • Initiate programs that create innovation and inspire Gulfstream on the effective use and potential of our CX/UX capabilities.
  • Communicate ideas and sell concepts with an aptitude for negotiation.
  • Demonstrate solid social skills and the ability to influence others without coercion, using relationship-based, emotionally intelligent persuasion. A deep respect for collaboration and partnership is a must - applying core Design Thinking principles.
  • Help create UX and design best practices and processes.
  • Experience working in fast-paced R&D and Engineering development environments.
  • Field research experience and strong understanding of usability testing is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Working experience with Design Systems.
  • Working experience with Digital animations and video content creations.
  • Unreal Engine or Unity experience desired. Immersive design working experience a huge plus.
  • Clean and world-class online portfolio required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Creation of strong visuals to help create a narrative and help facilitate understanding of design concepts along with experience in workshop facilitation is a must.


Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.

Position Purpose:

Works on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  1. Responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope .
  2. Makes technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities .
  3. Applies advanced technical principles, theories and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge .
  4. Leads the development of innovative principles and ideas .
  5. Acts independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost and schedule requirements .
  6. Works under consultative direction; uses independent judgment to accomplish objectives .
  7. Develops standards and guides for diverse engineering activities .
  8. Conceives and plans investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program .

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:
  1. Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum preferred.
  2. The level of technical skill and abilities appropriate for this grade will be established by each discipline.
