Maintenance Heavy Equipment Operator Manager
Fort Stewart, GA

Summary:
The Maintenance Heavy Equipment Operator Manager provides guidance and supervision of Heavy Equipment Operators as well as providing support services for the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization, and Security (DPTMS) Range Control at Ft. Stewart, GA. DPTMS support enables management and maintenance of training land by integrating mission requirements with environmental requirements and sound land management practices. Maintenance Heavy Equipment Operator Foreman is the liaison between the Company and the government.

Job Duties:

  • Plan and coordinate land rehabilitation and maintenance projects with the government, ensuring that they are executed in accordance with project timelines and environmental regulations.
  • Manages the overall project progression including but not limited to supervision of large working crews, multiple job sites, equipment and materials management and procurement, and managing budgets and expenditures.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to equipment usage, project progress, and environmental impact.
  • Provide heavy equipment operators with daily safety briefings and work assignments.
  • Provide guidance and best courses of action to heavy equipment operators for daily operations.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with environmental regulations and best practices for land rehabilitation.
  • Knowledge of the hazards and applicable safety rules and precautions in the operation of heavy motorized equipment.
  • Operate heavy machinery, including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, and graders, to carry out land rehabilitation and maintenance tasks.
  • Repair, maintain, and reconstruct the training area lands at Stewart, GA.
  • Transverse access trails to training areas.
  • Operate various diesel-powered motor vehicles, both wheeled and tracked, such as but not limited to graders, excavators, and bulldozers.
  • Operate ground clearance machinery such as vegetation mulchers, agricultural tractors, tub grinders, pickup trucks, and four wheel-drive vehicles.
  • Operate various towed and power-takeoff equipment: hydro-seeders, drill seeders, fertilizer spreaders, and pesticide sprayers.
  • Operate various types of hand operated light equipment: chainsaws, brush saws, pruning saws, stump grinders.
  • Safely operate articulating dump trucks, utility trucks, and trailers when needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • United States citizen.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid US issued Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation.
  • Minimum five (10) years demonstrated relevant experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience conducting maintenance management projects on a military installation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CDL-A endorsement

Working Environment:

The usual daily work conditions will be in an outdoor field and/or office environment located at Fort Stewart, GA. This position requires a candidate capable of lifting and moving objects in excess of 60+ pounds, moving across uneven terrain, and capable of close, distance, peripheral vision with acceptable depth perception.
