Department Information

The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers programs available on both the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses, focusing on developing logical thinking and correct reasoning in various mathematical areas. With master's degree concentrations in Applied Mathematics, Computational Science, Pure Mathematics, and Statistics, along with a comprehensive and practical bachelor's degree, the department ensures a well-rounded and future-focused education, aligning with the expected growth of more than 20% in mathematical fields over the next decade.

Job Summary

Reporting to the department chair, the Visiting Instructor position requires teaching 15 credit hours per semester in our core course curriculum. The position is a ten-month, non-tenure track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications

Earned Ph.D. or M.S. in Mathematics, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics or Statistics, by August 1, 2024.

Experience teaching introductory mathematics or statistics courses.

Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.

Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
